College of Medicine hosts women's health conference Feb. 16

Hypothyroidism, migraines, mood cycles, dementia and eating disorders are just a few of the topics to be discussed at "Women's Health Across the Life Cycle: A Comprehensive Approach," the 11th annual women's health conference hosted by East Tennessee State University's James H. Quillen College of Medicine.
The one-day conference will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, at The Centre at Millennium Park and will feature Dr. Pauline Powers, director/professor of psychosomatic medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, as the keynote speaker.
Other presenters include Drs. Stephen Kimbrough, Merry Miller, Kristie Nies and Alan Peiris.
In addition to the major sessions, attendees can choose to participate in small roundtable discussions during lunch on such topics as human papillomavirus (HPV), polycystic ovary syndrome, body image dissatisfaction, breast cancer, thyroid disease, memory loss, or women's moods through the life cycle.
The conference will also display women's health research posters submitted by attendees.
ETSU's James H. Quillen College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
The conference is designed for primary care and specialty physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician assistants, resident physicians, fellows, health professions students, and other health care professionals with an interest in women's health.
