Young Lady Buc chooses ETSU among all the rest

She came to ETSU to pursue volleyball because it fit everything she wanted in her college of choice.
"I liked the campus, it's really gorgeous and everyone was nice," said Stancliff. "It's a Division 1 school and fairly small, but head coach Lindsey Devine was very influential when she talked to me."
In high school, Stancliff was an all-conference swimmer for three out of the four years of her career.
She ran track for three years, was named all-conference for all three, and participated in cross country.
Although Stancliff says she definitely excelled in volleyball, she was all-conference senior year in volleyball and had the highest kills, which set the school record.
She was named MVP and was the captain for two years.
"I chose to come here for volleyball because ETSU had a very good record," Stancliff. "I am very happy with playing between the middle and outside hitter position."
For many freshmen, it is hard to make the transition between high school and college athletics.
"It was hard at first in preseason to get used to how stuff works, traveling and doing school work. The girls were very welcoming and we are all young," Stancliff said.
"There were five other freshmen, so it was pretty exciting when we did well in our first tournament."
So far this season, the six-foot-tall Stancliff has had a total of 120 kills, a total of 32 blocks, and 26 digs.
Stancliff and the team's regular season is over but they have the A-Sun Conference Tournament coming up in Macon, Ga., Nov. 20-22.
