On Friday, Jan. 30, ETSU's Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Kappa Delta Sorority joined forces to assist Northside Elementary School's annual Winter Carnival. With smiles on their faces, both Greek organizations were willing and ready to assist the local elementary school.
Pikes and KDs did everything from cooking hotdogs and popcorn to running the carnival games. Despite all the hard work, the Greeks really enjoyed working with each other and the children. Most members even stayed to clean up after the event.
The carnival is a huge fundraiser for the local school.
For Pi Kappa Alpha and Kappa Delta, the winter festival was a great way to kick start a spring semester filled with active service and community involvement.
For information about upcoming community service events or the need for service, please contact Allison Cox (Kappa Delta) at 865-599-4461/ Kevin White (Pi Kappa Alpha) 423-923-1595.

Alpha Delta Pi hosts annual benefit, auction

The ETSU Gamma Phi chapter of Alpha Delta Pi sorority will host the seventh annual Ronald McDonald House Benefit and Auction at the Russo Orleans on Saturday, March 21.
Tickets to the 6 p.m. event are $30. Among the auction items are spa, tennis, golf packages, vacations and dinner certificates at area restaurants.
Last year, the ETSU chapter raised more than $22,000 for the Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House, a facility offering food, shelter and support in a home environment to families with hospitalized children. This year the goal is $25,000.
One of the top ADPi chapters in the nation for money raised to support RMH, the ETSU organization has contributed more than $70,000 in the last five years.
For more information, call Beth Maloney, ADPi benefit planner, at 423-312-7478 or e-mail at zemm14@goldmail.etsu.edu.
