The Alliance is scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday from March 24-April 30, with morning sessions from 10-noon and afternoon courses usually running from 1-3 p.m.
Unless noted, all classes are held on the campus of the Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the Carnegie Library's Gerber Lecture Hall (Building 17).
Parking is available at the library or between Stanton-Gerber Hall and the Johnson City Medical Center on Med Center Drive North, with van shuttle service provided to the Carnegie Library.
Sponsored by the ETSU Office of Professional Development, the ACL is "member-empowered, member-driven and member-governed."
Participants decide the study groups, forums, classes and other activities to be held, find leaders for sessions and elect officers.
As the ACL notes, there are no educational pre-requisites, no examinations and no grades involved in the courses - just a love of learning. A $30 fee allows persons to attend any or all sessions.
For more information, a schedule of classes or special arrangements for those with disabilities, call the ETSU Office of Professional Development at (423) 439-8298.
